Since its founding on January 17, 1991, Jenaer Tanzhaus e.V. has been a central hub for dance culture in Thuringia – and a cornerstone of Jena’s salsa scene.
What began in the 1990s with great idealism has grown into a vibrant meeting place for dance enthusiasts of all ages. The association has played a pioneering role especially in the field of Caribbean dances: For decades, salsa has been established, promoted, and developed in Jena – with a focus on authenticity, cultural depth, and community.
The current offerings include regular courses and workshops in Casino (Cuban Salsa), Rueda de Casino, Son, Guaguancó, and Body Movement. The program is complemented by parties, guest instructors, and the annual CubaJena Festival.
Jenaer Tanzhaus e.V. is thus not only a place to dance, but also a vibrant cultural ambassador that brings Cuban dance and music traditions to life in the heart of Thuringia.
